A floating shelf gives you a surface without giving up floor space, which is the whole argument for putting one above a desk, a sofa or the kitchen counter. This pair arrives ready to hang and holds a straight line once it is up.
Each shelf is a solid wood board over a concealed steel bracket, so there is nothing visible underneath and nothing to catch a sleeve on. The bracket fixes into studs or into the wall plugs supplied, and a bubble level is printed into the paper template, so you are not eyeballing the height off the skirting board. Between the two shelves you get enough run for books, plants or a stack of records.
