A bare bulb hanging from a ceiling rose is the fastest thing to fix in a rented room. This woven rattan shade fits over an existing fitting and turns a harsh overhead into a warm, patterned glow across the ceiling.
Because it is woven rather than solid, light passes through the weave as well as straight down, which lifts the whole room instead of leaving the corners dark. It is light enough for a standard ceiling rose and goes up without rewiring, since the shade slides over the cord and secures to the lampholder ring.
