A bowl with enough weight in it to stay in one place. Rilo is thrown in ceramic with a heavy base, so a determined eater pushes it around the kitchen far less than a light plastic dish that ends up under the radiator by the end of a meal.
The interior is glazed smooth, which means it wipes clean and does not hold onto smells the way a scratched plastic bowl does. A ring of rubber on the underside stops it skidding and keeps the clatter down on a hard floor. It is dishwasher safe, so it can go in with everything else at the end of the day, and the straight sides make it easy to judge a consistent portion by eye.
