A tug toy is really a two-player game, and Mippa is built around the grip. Thick cotton rope is knotted at both ends and again through the middle, giving your dog something substantial to hold and giving you a knot to hang onto without the rope sliding through your fingers.
The strands are loosely spun so they splay out under pressure, which is what makes a rope toy interesting to work at as well as pull against. It is light enough to throw across a garden and it floats long enough to be fished out of a paddling pool. Check it over now and then, as you would with any rope toy, and retire it once the strands start to come loose.
