Switch it off and it is a plain rounded lamp. Switch the projector on and the ceiling fills with slow-moving points of light. Elva does both jobs from one unit, so the room does not need a second gadget taking up shelf space.
The top half lifts off to swap between a steady warm glow and the projection, and a dial on the back sets how fast the pattern turns and how bright it goes. It runs from a USB cable, so it can be plugged into a mains adapter or a power bank. The shell is a matt moulded plastic that wipes clean, and the whole thing is light enough to carry from one room to another.
