Waking to an alarm in a pitch-dark room is a hard start to a morning. This clock brightens gradually over the half hour before your alarm, so you surface slowly instead of being pulled out of deep sleep by a sound.
The light reaches full brightness at your set time, with the option of a soft tone as a backup if you sleep through it. It doubles as a bedside reading lamp in the evening, with a separate dimmable setting for winding down. The numerals stay readable at a glance in the night, and the display dims automatically once the room goes dark.
