One board that goes from chopping straight to the table. The Calla board is solid acacia, dense enough to take a knife without scarring quickly, and good-looking enough that you serve the cheese on it rather than moving everything to a plate.
A cut-out handle at one end makes it easy to carry loaded, and the groove around the edge catches what runs off a rested steak or a ripe tomato. Acacia has natural grain variation, so no two boards come out looking identical. Wash it by hand, stand it up to dry, and rub in a little food-safe oil now and then to keep the colour deep rather than letting it go grey.
